
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most memorable role was as private detective Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) during which time the actor was nominated 5 times for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in the Drama Series. He won the award in 1985. In the TV series Blue Bloods, Selleck has played Frank Reagan, New York City Police Commissioner. From 2005 onward the actor has played troubled small-town police chief Jesse Stone in nine television films inspired by the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). Since Magnum, P.I., the actor has appeared in more than 50 roles on television as well as in film, such as the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He was a regular TV actor on the show playing Monica Geller's lover, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the likable, innocent companion in The Rockford Files; and as A.J., the casino owner.
